A little bit scary - a big bit naughty!

We read a story called Where the Wild Things Are.

The main character was called Max, he was very naughty. He was sent to his room without any food. A jungle grew and there he met some very wild things who love noise and naughtiness!

....and in our classroom some jungle vines have grown and the wild things are swinging among them.....

Week 5

We made a video to show Harold Giraffe how we are keeping healthy and learning maths at the same time. He came to our class in his special carry cage to watch us. He was amazed and gave us some special treats - some Life Education stickers and a very special mini Harold toy.

This week was Wh week. We learned about whales -  did you know that they breathe air like we do?

... and we designed 3D wharves after looking a photos of two of the wharves in Christchurch; Lyttelton  and Diamond Harbour.

Visitors - dogs and a giraffe!

What an exciting week we have had.

On Monday we had 2 dogs visit us while we learned about dog safety. Most of us were brave enough to feed and pat a dog.

... and on Thursday we had our long awaited turn to visit Harold the giraffe in the Life Education bus.

We are learning about how everyone is unique and how great it is to be friends with lots of people who like different things to us.

Ch week

We learned about a new digraph this week. Ch is for chicken and chipmunk.

We found out that chickens take 21 days to hatch. You can see the rest of their life cycle on our chickens' tummies.

We had to make 3D chipmunks out of 2 strips of paper. Quite a challenge, but we made some awesome chipmunks.

Starting Term 4

This week we had some coaches from the Burnside Cricket Club come and teach us some cricket skills. What fun!

We really enjoyed catching up with our big buddies after the holiday break. They helped us with a letter maze challenge and then we read our reading books to them.

Weaving - Our Term 3 Art focus

We have tried different types of weaving. We have discovered that it is hard!!! It takes a lot of patience and perseverance. We are very proud of our progress in our weaving skills.

Here are two of our projects. The other projects will be on display at the school 'Art Attack' which will be held early next term.

Straw weaving - making bracelets.

We are painting bear outlines and we are using a cardboard 'loom' to weave furry stomachs for them. They will be on display in the school Art Attack in Week 1 Term 4.

Weaving takes a lot of perseverance - some of us are weaving champions, some of us not so much!!!
