Introducing the Beebots and Computational Thinking

For the last few weeks we have been practising drawing arrows for a very important reason.... so we can programme the beebots!

We have to make a programme for the robots using forward, backward, turn left and turn right commands. We plan our programme on our whiteboards and them input it into our beebots

We were so excited to see our beebots in action. What a way to finish Term 1 2021!

Blowing Bubbles

We made bubble mixtures in groups. Then we tested to see which detergent made the best bubbles.

After lots of testing, most of us thought the yellow detergent was the best.

Our Butterflies are off

Jack J gave us a swan plant with cocoons and caterpillars.

We have watched the caterpillars grow bigger, make cocoons, and change into ...... butterflies. We put them out in the garden under a net to keep them safe until their wings were dry enough to fly.

Busy Week 7

Can you see the cat... the word cat inside the cat? We had fun learning to draw a cat starting with the word.

We had football skills lessons...

and we enjoyed a sing-a-long while we coloured poems about cats.

Hands on Science

Our school hall was transformed into a place of wondering and experiments. We had a show explaining what science is and how to do fair testing and experiments... and then we could explore the amazing hands on exhibits. Such fun!

Kapahaka

On Monday mornings mātua Steve teaches us kapahaka. Here are some of the new waiata we are learning.
