Wig Wednesday

 

17 of the cutest kids at Russley School!  Looking great on Wig Wednesday raising money for child cancer.

Also cute, but with a little bit of crazy - just how we like them!!

Not only was there Wig Wednesday - we also celebrated W week in our class. 

We made wolf masks....

...and began our winter paintings that were inspired by the snow on the tree outside our room on Tuesday.

We will add the snow as soon as the paintings are dry enough.

Father's Day

 We made posters for our dads. Happy Father's day to all the Room 14 dads!

Underwater and Umbrellas

 It is U week.....

We learned about some of the creatures found under the ocean and then got to work.
First we made a torch, drew our underwater scenes and then we put it all together.

Come on an adventure to see some of them with us.

We practised our patterning skills while making these colourful umbrellas... 

Jiggly Jellyfish

 Our jellyfish are swimming in the ocean.

We cut 2 jellyfish pieces and added tentacles before stuffing the jellyfish and adding our coloured dye. They look fantastic!

Week 2 Term 3 - Cook Island Language week

We were so lucky to have Tamatoa and his mum and new baby Manava talk to us about life in the Cook Islands. They had so many things to show ua and tell us about.

We made zebras from our handprints ... we are trying hard to make sure our zebras all have different stripes, just like real zebras. Come in and see them parading across our classroom wall.

Why it is Mr Griffiths trying to trick us!! Thanks to Mr Griffiths for trimming the trees to let the light in our room.

Starting Term 3

 Goodness, it is Term 3 already. We are learning about geometry this term. We will learn about shape and rotation. We started by working with a buddy to find some square shapes in our classroom.

We also learned about the short e sound - look at the cute mice we made from our printing practice.

Rainbows, Raindrops and Robots

 R week in Room 14 to end the term....

A class of robots - all are different just like their designers.

We made our raindrops with eye droppers and blue dye to make them look realistic.
